At Smart IT, each employee is given one day’s paid leave a year where they can volunteer for a local charity of their choice, known as charity days. It’s a great opportunity for the team to invest in their local community whilst being compensated and rewarded for their efforts by Smart IT.
This week, saw Liam Hall and Adam Taylor lending their services to Oasis Community Housing to help out at their Naomi Project. The Naomi Project in Gateshead is a haven for young women at risk of, or who have experienced homelessness. The property consists of eight bedrooms which has recently been overhauled to create a beautiful lounge and dining room with some lovely new furniture to compliment the new décor.
Adam & Liam spent their charity day supporting the Naomi project by assembling the new flat pack furniture and moving it in to the new rooms.
“The guys have done a fantastic job, please pass on our thanks to Adam and Liam. We really appreciate their help; it will make such a difference to the staff and residents.”
Hazel Ditchburn, Corporate Relationships Manager, Oasis Community Housing.
The project staffed 24/7 by a dedicated team who work to inspire these women to move forward to a hopeful and independent future. Many of the women have experienced trauma and survived domestic abuse, the Naomi project exists to enable these women the safety and support to heal and grow.
