Success Stories
At Smart IT, we’re proud to develop and support some of the North East’s most promising young IT professionals. Our apprenticeship programme doesn’t just provide training—it helps individuals build meaningful, long-term careers.

North East Rising Star Award Winner
William Gallon was recently crowned the Overall Winner of the North East Rising Star Apprentice Award, standing out against an exceptionally high calibre of finalists. This prestigious category in the National Apprenticeship Awards recognises apprentices who have shown outstanding growth in their careers and have the potential to achieve even more.
William’s achievement is a reflection of his hard work, talent, and the high-quality support provided throughout his apprenticeship at Smart IT.
Finalists Who Continue to Shine
In addition to William’s success, we’re also incredibly proud of Liam Hall and James Houston, who both reached the North East final of the Rising Star Apprentice Award. Their dedication, professionalism, and contributions to the team have been exceptional throughout their apprenticeships.
All three of these individuals represent what’s possible when apprentices are given the right tools, training, and environment to succeed.
