Smart IT’s Advanced Apprenticeship Program is an integral part of the business and culture, and nothing is more rewarding than to see apprentices thrive and develop.
We are delighted that IT Helpdesk Engineer Apprentice Kieran Bell has passed his Level 3 Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship, achieving an impressive distinction certification, awarded by BCS through QA Apprenticeships. The Infrastructure Technician apprenticeship programme covers a range of practical skills and underpinning knowledge and includes the following components: networking fundamentals, mobile and operating systems, coding and logic and cloud services.
Kieran’s role within the IT Support team is to provide dedicated IT infrastructure support to a key client of Smart IT. This not only includes all the standard first-line helpdesk support but also involves working at the client’s offices resolving on site issues, installing equipment and network tasks. As part of the Advanced Apprenticeship Program Kieran works closely with Smart IT’s senior IT consultants who provide mentoring and additional support and guidance on the more complex IT projects.
“I often travel to the client’s offices to fix issues, carry out installations and work on their network when required. I’m supported by the wider Smart IT engineering team to offer me guidance if something arises that I’m not yet confident in. I’m looking forward to building on my apprenticeship training over the coming months”
